Personnel Committee

Purpose

The Personnel Committee oversees and manages Human Resource responsibilities and functions for UUCB.

Charge

The Personnel Committee establishes reviews and makes recommendations, including but not limited to policies, procedures, job descriptions, and pay and benefit structure for the employees of UUCB. The Personnel Committee works with paid church staff on employment issues and, oversees hiring, terms of employment, compensation procedures and evaluations. The Personnel Committee determines that all state and federal legal requirements are in compliance. The committee maintains and updates the Personnel Policy on a yearly basis, issues copies of changes in the Personnel Policy to all employees as they occur, maintains Personnel Records for many purposes, including benefit administration, mailing information to employee’s home, and in case of emergency. The committee reviews payroll information and retirement benefit reports on a quarterly basis and assures that background information has been secured prior to employment. The committee assists the minister with investigating and resolving employee complaints.
