As we prepare to Celebrate Earth Day, we’ll focus on Embracing Possibilities for Climate Justice in an age when some of the few guardrails intending to protect and conserve Earth’s resources have been removed, and other threats to our shared environment are escalating. “Black rain” recently fell in Iran, following the destruction of oil depots. Some of the agreements in place to reduce greenhouse gasses have been abandoned. Funding for environmental protections has decreased or disappeared in certain sectors, and in others the rapid expansion of data centers and their impact on marginalized communities and people is increasing so rapidly. As concerns rise, how might we ground and center ourselves for investing in possibilities for climate justice?
