Donate by Credit Card

Donate by Pledge
Church members are invited to make a pledge, to be paid over the three-year period of the campaign. Each member can expect to receive a call from a member of the Capital Campaign Committee to arrange a time to discuss pledging opportunities.
Donate by Check
A gift of cash is available immediately for the church’s use and in most cases is 100% deductible for donors who itemize deductions. Your check should be made payable to Unitarian Universalist Church of Brunswick (UUCB) and mailed to the church office at P.O. Box 129, Brunswick, ME 04011.
Donate Stock
Donors very often use appreciated securities – including publicly traded and privately held stock and mutual funds – to make capital campaign gifts. The attraction of this method of giving is that the donor is entitled to take a charitable deduction for the full current value of appreciated securities held longer than one year and is able to avoid paying the capital gains tax that would be due if the donor sold the securities. It is the policy of UUCB to sell the securities immediately.
Make a Planned Gift
In order to increase their gifts, some individuals may make use of a planned gift, either alone or in combination with an outright gift. The use and proceeds of a planned gift are deferred until a later date. Planned gifts include:

Naming the church in your will

Naming the church as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy

Placing money in a trust where the church receives either the income on the amount in trust or the principal after your death.

Following the Biblical example of "First Fruits," we plan to give 1% of our received donations to our ongoing Charities With Soul program. Beneficiaries are most often local Maine charities such as the Tedford Shelter in Brunswick, heating oil asssistance programs, and others.
