Religious Exploration (RE) classes provide children with the opportunity to explore their own feelings and beliefs, and to learn about many diverse people and their beliefs.
Age-appropriate groups are led by teams of volunteer leaders who are members and friends of the congregation. The groups meet during the church service in the church building, and next door at Pennell House. (Children may choose to remain in the Sanctuary with their parents instead of attending RE groups.)
Nursery care is available for children under 4 years. A Religious Exploration handbook detailing our programs is available at any time by contacting the church office.
Our Director of Religious Education (DRE) is Pat Gardiner (
email). Pat has held this position since 1992, when she came to us from the Kennebunk Unitarian Universalist Church where she had served as DRE. Pat plans and supervises the Religious Exploration program, which offers weekly classes for children ages 4 through high school.
